About This Game The year 2476, Earth's space-federation has been building moon-bases across the galaxy. One of those moon-bases has been sending a distress signal. Space Grunts are a group of intergalactic "problem" solvers, sent to investigate..You play one, out of a team, of Space Grunts, and your mission is simple: find your way into the moon-base, and figure out what has happened. You'll have to fight your way through aliens, robots, security drones and base-systems. Find the lower levels of the moon-base, and get to the core of the problems.Consumables - A large collection of consumables can be found all over the moon base from weapon enhancers, to destructive toys, armor, explosives, system-hacks, and more. Use the items wisely to advance deeper into the moon-base.Weapons - Starting with three standard Grunt weapons, you will be able to enhance them for more fire-power and range. On your way you'll also find alternate weapons, and melee weapons.Secrets - There are various ways to complete the game, anomalies leading to weird places, underground routes, and mysterious items to transport you to other area's of the moon-base. On top of these there are secret rooms and area's located all over the base, so never a dull moment! Can you find the core of the problems? 7aa9394dea Title: Space GruntsGenre: Action, Indie, RPG, StrategyDeveloper:OrangepixelPublisher:OrangepixelRelease Date: 12 Jan, 2016 Space Grunts Torrent Download [Password] Bought this during early access on steam. Please see below video for my "initial" blind thoughts as I played through my first game. Too Long Didn't Watch: Strong first impression: enjoyable, pretty good variety for early access, will be playing more. https://youtu.be/pWHDPfCf7cQ. Doesn't feel like it has a lot to offer in terms of replayability ... after one or two failed attempts I felt like I'd seen everything the game had to offer, and it wasn't very intriguing. There just doesn't feel like there's a lot of depth to the game... having only one character to control instead of a whole squad makes things proceed in a fairly simple matter: walk up to dude, empty your clip, hope you don't die in the process. Repeat. Repeat. Sometimes you pick up things to help. How you manuever your character relative to enemies has very, very little effect on gameplay... if any. If you sneak up on a character who is facing away from you and fire your gun, well ... in that same instant, the enemy manages to spin a full 180 degrees and land a bullet in your chest armor, so positioning and manuevering in this game means nothing.Kudos for trying a simultaneous move/turn system, but the end result is that you have all the enemies moving the same speed as you, and most of them have the same range as you. The end result ends up being that once you're engaged in a fight, there is little-to-no hope of disengaging from the fight to set up a defensive position or do a tricky manuever on the enemy, or whatever ... you just both continually fire on each other, hoping that the enemy dies first.. Enjoyable. It could be better with deeper story, loot explanations, and perhaps some mechanics tutorials. Good fun, and pretty game.. Fun, solid strategy. Great for quick plays. Great clean pixel art and sound. Tons of replayability.. Bought this during early access on steam. Please see below video for my "initial" blind thoughts as I played through my first game. Too Long Didn't Watch: Strong first impression: enjoyable, pretty good variety for early access, will be playing more. https:\/\/youtu.be\/pWHDPfCf7cQ. so far very well put together roguelike, damn fun to play too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpfuA052kyM Update 23: Decoy duckies, combo's and fences: A fun little update this week with the addition of Decoy Ducks! These items can be placed in a room and will start walking randomly until they go boom. Mean while they distract the enemies making it possible for you to either slip by or kill some aliens.I also added another room type, one with electrical fences. See if you can find those and survive it!Finally I made combo's a little more visual, altho I think it still needs a bit more work to communicate to the player what is happening. And also added a few more fun combo's you might figure out how to activate.I also did some rebalancing on the item-drop, this is a work in progress, but I think it feels better now. Still have to do some long runs myself to see how it holds up in longer games, so I'll keep tweaking it.And of course a few more fixes for minor stuff. Let me know if you run into any problems or got some great ideas because my "todo list" is drying up!interface:change: combo’s now more visualchange: Steam game bannersgame:added: electric-fence rooms (it’s a trap!)added: “haste” comboadded: “superbolt” comboadded: decoy-ducks… !changed: new item-drop rate calculations (bigger difference between rare items and normal items)fix: gasmask + mobile emp turn didn’t decreasefix: rc-drone mini icon rendering bugfix: stopped Alien spawners from working outside visible areafix: alien plants now become unsolid when shotfix: crowbar not working when no shells leftfix: last crowbar hit now also works.. update 19: Sheesh man, I'm fixing it!: all I can say is : oops! Yesterday's update broke a few things, luckily nothing really game-breaking, but not as it should have been. Since I think a lot of people get some gaming time in the weekends, I found it best to do a quick fix update instead of waiting till Tuesday.I blame it all on the down-side of working from your home kitchen-table: distractions! Had a lot of those the last few days and guess I slipped up on the testing side of things. So this update is really just a hot-fix thanks to the feedback from Sheesh over at the forums.I did start working on fixing and improving some animations, so you get those for free ;)interface:fix: load game now restores your inventory correctly againgame: change: hack-key won’t unlock/open all doors (overkill)change: hack-key now more rare (NPC trade most likely)fix: various animations on the playerfix: improved explosion effectsfix: when current inventory slots are full, can’t pick up more itemsfix: players becomes partially transparent again when using “invisiblity”fix: hack-key will now stop working when leaving level (as it should)fix: level 16/end-boss switches not working bugfix: level 16/end-boss switches not showing bug. new game: Heroes of Loot 2 - pre order now for 30% discount: Hey Guys, My new game,Heroes of Loot 2, is almost ready for an Early Access release, and as with my previous games I'm doing a pre-order discount for the early-birds, loyal Orangepixel fans, and followers.. and that means you!The Pre-order comes with a Steam key, which will be usable as soon as the game hits Early Access. Early Access will be in week one or two of May, at which time you can also buy the game directly on Steam (but without the 30% discount). So, if you want the game AND the 30% discount, check out the pre-order page here: http://orangepixel.itch.io/heroesofloot2Read more on the game here: http://www.heroesofloot.com. update 30: a worm on my back!: I managed to squeeze out another tiny update here, altho it does change a few things graphically in a big way. The first zone, outer moon-base area, now shows more of the metal of the moon base underneath the sandy-walls. It will also start showing a bit more light in level 2 and level 3 when the darkness starts to set in.Another fun addition is alternate text for the NPC's.. they will now randomly throw out hints and info on the game (it's very possible that the same NPC will say something different when you bump into him/her again). Finally I noticed new gamers not noticing what happens when a worm uses you for a ride, so there is now a speech bubble added to that, making it easier to detect when you are "carrying a worm" ;)interface:fix: cleaned up game-over screen a bit (using more space)changed: weapon-switching now more responsive (even in-between turns or when walking)game:added: speech bubble warning of a worm on your backadded: alternate text for NPC’s with gameplay hintschanged: outer moonbase zone graphicschanged: improved door graphics. Contest #1 update 31b: Pushing a small update to fix an issue with the prize-giving (only the first 2 players received their prize)Also made the contest-popup only show once.. will refine that in a future update to make it pop-up possibly 3 times or something.Congrats to the first people winning the prize! And you can still get your Tech junky b-skin in the next few days!Read up on the contest here:http://steamcommunity.com/games/371430/announcements/detail/108448838533952336good luck!
